From Vision to Victory: GenArt Fusion Contest Results

We are thrilled to unveil the winners of our GenArt Fusion online contest!

First and foremost, we extend our deepest gratitude to all participants for their enthusiasm, creativity, and active involvement in this event. Your contributions have truly made this contest a celebration of imaginative vision.

The theme for this contest, Reimagine Aotearoa in an Alternate Reality, invited participants to explore the natural phenomena, weather patterns, futuristic cityscapes, landscapes shaped by time, or even a mythical version of the country. The submissions we received were nothing short of inspiring, showcasing the incredible talent and imagination of each participant.

Our esteemed panel of judges, made up of professionals with 5 to 15 years of experience in animation, 3D modelling, art, and game design, faced the challenging task of evaluating a total of 24 submissions. Each entry was meticulously assessed based on originality, relevance to the theme, narrative quality, and technical execution.

We are proud to announce the winners who have truly captured the essence of this theme:

 • Masterpiece Award - Andrew, for his GenArt piece “The Convergence”

 • Best Storytelling Award - John, for his GenArt piece “Maui and the Giant Fish”

 • Innovation Award - Chris, for his GenArt piece “Warrior of the Future”

In addition, our judges decided to give special recognition to:

 • Shreyaa, for “One with the Birds”

 • Arisha, for “Brought Back to Life”

 • Ram, for “Aotearoa's Journey from Heritage to Horizon”

We’re also excited to share some thoughts from our participants:

"Winning this award is such an honor! I must have gone through at least 10 different iterations and concepts before locking down my final submission. As a writer, I often play around with GPT's image generation tool because I love how it turns my words into such gripping visuals. The competition was organized so efficiently, and using Discord to give instructions was an inspired decision."

— Andrew

"I feel honored to be part of this competition. The organization was fantastic, and I’m excited about the opportunity to visit the Mytona studio. It was a great experience to participate in such a well-run event."

— Shreyaa

"The competition was clearly designed with a lot of thought, which made the whole experience a lot of fun. I’d love to share more about my experience; it was amazing to see the variety of submissions and how each artist interpreted the theme in their own unique way."

— Chris

"I appreciated how organized everything was and how inclusive the competition was of people over 18. I rarely see that type of inclusion in other competitions. It was a great experience, and I'm excited about the opportunity to visit the Mytona studio."

— Arisha

"This was my first experience with AI image tools, and it was fascinating to see how even a tiny tweak to a prompt could drastically change the final result. The competition was clearly designed with a lot of thought, which made the whole experience a lot of fun. I would love to see more competitions like this in the future."

— John

"This competition provided a unique and forward-thinking platform to explore the fascinating blend of technology and creativity through AI. It was clear that a great deal of thought and effort went into its planning and execution."

— Ram

Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you once again to everyone who took part in making this contest a success!
